Morrison scored three spots on the Top 25 matches of 2011 according to wwe.com.
First up was the 4th match of the year
04. Raw Elimination Chamber
They say there are no atheists in foxholes. Same goes for the Elimination Chamber. Dubbed The Devil’s Playground for good reason, the satanic structure houses six Superstars inside ten tons of twisted metal, jagged steel and bulletproof glass. But, like any great battlefield, the chamber has become a place of glory that serves as a testament to the cunning or power of the Superstar who survives it. For John Cena, it has been such a place on three occasions, including this February 20 war against Sheamus, CM Punk, Randy Orton, John Morrison and R-Truth. Determined to earn a WWE Championship Match at WrestleMania, the Cenation leader persevered before finally eliminating Punk to earn his showdown with The Miz on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
Next he comes in at number 07 for the Rumble which he was not mentioned in but we all know he had an amazing showing at the Rumble last year. Next he came in again with the 12th Match of the year
12. WWE Title Triple Threat Match from Extreme Rules John Cena vs The Miz vs John Morrison
The Awesome One’s impossible reign as WWE Champion finally came to an end at May’s Extreme Rules in a taxing Triple Threat Steel Cage Match. Locked in the enclosure with John Morrison and John Cena, The Miz was still full of himself after beating the Cenation leader in the main event of WrestleMania XXVII, but he wouldn’t be as lucky this time. Taking a whipping from both of his rivals, The Miz almost had an opportunity to escape when R-Truth stormed the cage and attacked JoMo. The Awesome One could not break free, though, and ended up getting hit with an Attitude Adjustment from the top rope and losing his cherished WWE Title
Finally Morrison came in with his final match the 20th match of the year
20. WWE Champion The Miz vs John Morrison from Raw
The Miz silenced many of his critics when he became the WWE Champion at the end of 2010. His remaining detractors shut up after they witnessed The Awesome One successfully defend his title against former friend John Morrison in a grueling Falls Count Anywhere Match on Raw in January. Once the WWE Tag Team Champions, The Miz and The Shaman of Sexy battered each other throughout Phoenix’s US Airways Center before Morrison risked it all by attempting to put his rival through a table with Starship Pain. Unfortunately for The Prince of Parkour, The Miz moved at the last second, causing all of Morrison’s weight to crash through the pine. The misstep brought The Awesome One the win — and some serious credibility

On Raw SuperShow, boos and booleans revealed a good deal about John Cena’s resolve in the “Pit” of despair as well as the WWE Champion’s Googling habits. Amid all the talk, John Morrison couldn’t walk out of the arena following an awesomely aggressive assailant’s onslaught.
It’s the day after Raw. Let’s see what you thought …
Man on a Miz-sion
No need for a game of “Clue.” It was The Miz with a lead pipe outside the conservatory (a.k.a. Raw SuperShow stage). Repeatedly striking John Morrison’s right leg with the dense weapon, Miz as Colonel Mustard brutalized his ex-tag team partner prior to their Falls Count Anywhere Match. Add a kendo stick assault, a face-first trajectory into an oversized steel “WWE” logo and a Skull Crushing Finale on the stage; you’re left with the second former associate to fall to The Awesome One’s hostile wrath. (WATCH)
The first was R-Truth, who Miz vanquished just a week before sending Morrison from limp to gurney excursion out of South Carolina’s Colonial Life Arena on Monday night. As The Awesome One alluded to in a WWE.com exclusive video last week, he’s shrugged off the excess weight and no one is safe. But given the theme of his attacks, you wouldn’t want to be a one-time ally of The Miz. Sorry, A-Ry.
@jazzibabi_778: i wonder if John Morrison is ok??????? I like John Morrison but The Miz is AWESOME!!!!! #RAW
@LiLiReynolds: All I want 4 Christmas is for Morrison to return to wwe next yr #MickFoley #Raw #RawChristmas

@Kat_PunkMizfit: #Mizfits in case you missed it, @mikethemiz had an #AWESOME night. He kicked the crap out of morrison, and it was great:] @WWE #Raw
@Lil_Hol: Miz using some kinda pipe on Morrison’s leg? Ouch! Looked painful! #RAW @WWE
@PoohBearoness: @WWE Now @mikethemiz vs @RealMorrison coming out….OH… OWW.. OUCH…. wow….pre-match mugging by The Miz w/ a pipe. #RAW
@paragon11_TJ: Miz stole Steiner’s lead pipe! #RAW
@Smalls0629: Why did Johnny Ace just come out to look at Morrison then just walk away? #weirdo #Raw @WWE

Jim Ross posted this at his online blog
Upon further review, it might make more sense than many John Morrison fans think for John to step away from WWE now that his WWE contract has expired. John has had a few injuries that rest and physical therapy will help greatly. Plus, he’s free to enjoy the holidays. I can see John taking a few months, perhaps even a year, off, heal, recharge his batteries and then return to WWE. Of course the obvious question from many fans is when will Morrison turn up on another company’s wrestling, TV show? Personally, I don’t see that happening but that’s merely one guy’s opinion. John is a talented athlete and certainly wish him the best.
Jr has always been wise so maybe he is right

Last Monday Night Raw was John Morrisons last Scheduled appearance for the WWE. Heres how it went down
John Morrison started to make his entrance only to have The Miz attack him on the stage. Miz slammed a steel pipe (Scott Steiner gimmick infringement) over Morrison’s leg repeatedly. Referees and trainers ran out to pull Miz off. Miz headed to the ring and the trainers wanted to take Morrison backstage, but he insisted upon going to the ring for the match…
1. The Miz defeated John Morrison in a Falls Count Anywhere via ref stoppage in 3:30. Morrison went after Miz, got him on the ground, and hit him with repeated punches. Miz took a shot at Morrison’s injured leg. He wrapped it around the ring post and then slammed the leg into it. Cole said R-Truth is going to be out for a number of weeks because of his injury.
Miz pulled a kendo stick out from underneath the ring. Cole pointed out that it’s legal given the rules of the match. Morrison got the stick and blasted Miz with it in and around the ring. He scored a two count on the floor at ringside. Miz crawled up the ramp to get away from Morrison.
On top of the stage, Miz avoided a kendo stick shot and ran Morrison into the WWE logo stand. Miz picked up Morrison and hit the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz went for a cover, but the referee stopped the match because Morrison was unable to continue. Cole said Miz is eliminating people who got in his way and held him back.
Powell’s POV: Morrison got more offense than I expected him to get in a farewell match. I hope they are trying to give Miz more of an edge. This was a good start overall, but crawling up the ramp to get away from a wounded wrestler isn’t going to make viewers feel as though much has changed.
After the match, the trainers and referees put Morrison on a board. Miz walked back out and looked at the fans. Morrison was placed on the stretcher as Miz walked to the ring. John Laurinaitis was out briefly with the crew that helped Morrison. Miz stood in the ring and said last week it was R-Truth, this week it’s John Morrison, and next week “we’ll see.”
The Miz said only one superstar can make this type of impact, and that person is him. He calmly stated that he can do it because he’s awesome. Lawler said The Miz is like an iceman. “Ice cold,” Lawler said regarding Miz…

Despite what appears to be a renewed push for John Morrison, there was some talk at Monday’s RAW Supershow that he is still expected to leave WWE when his contract expires soon.
Word was that Vince McMahon booked Morrison to pick up a few wins recently but that doesn’t mean that Morrison is staying. Something could always change with a new contract being agreed on but at last word, he is still leaving.
I hope he dont leave

WWE.com Announced this earlier
Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis may have rejected Zack Ryder’s petition for a United States Championship opportunity, but WWE.com has learned exclusively that the prestigious title will be defended at Survivor Series (FULL STORY). Rather than naming The Long Island Iced-Z as the challenger, however, Mr. Laurinaitis told WWE.com that John Morrison will square off with U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler. Though surely a disappointment for Ryder, the opportunity couldn’t come at a better time for The Guru of Greatness, who recently reclaimed some of his missing “mojo” after defeating Ziggler.
Mr. Laurinaitis’ decision presents a daunting task for the United States Champion, who was announced earlier in the week as Christian’s replacement on Team Barrett for the traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Match. This will also mark the second time in as many months that Dolph Ziggler has competed in two matches at one pay-per-view event. Though unsuccessful in a tag team match at Vengeance with Jack Swagger against WWE Tag Team Champions “Air Boom,” Ziggler rebounded by defeating Zack Ryder in the very next contest. The U.S. Champion has an opportunity to test his own endurance once again, and show the WWE Locker Room how he defines being a champion.
Although The Shaman of Sexy had fallen into a months-long slump, he bounced back by defeating Ziggler on Raw SuperShow recently, and reminding the WWE Universe why he is one of the most impressive ring warriors of today. The parkour master’s recent resurgence of his “mojo” has clearly not gone unnoticed as Mr. Laurinaitis has presented this amazing opportunity to the former three-time Intercontinental Champion. In all fairness to Zack Ryder, he failed to capture the U.S. Title at Vengeance, thus opening the door for a new challenger.
Of course, Ziggler always has a variable shrieking in his corner in the form of the banshee-like cougar, Vickie Guerrero. John Morrison may be able to adapt to and use the environment around him to his advantage, but nothing can help him adapt to the sound of Vickie’s high-pitched whine when competing against the U.S. Champion.
There is no word yet on which match will take place first for Ziggler, but even if the United States Champion does not survive the Survivor Series Elimination Match, he established at Vengeance that he can indeed handle two high-stakes contests in one night.
Will John Morrison continue to build on his rising mojo and capture the U.S. Title? Or will Ziggler prove that when the United States Championship is on the line, not even competing in two matches is enough to keep him down? Find out at Survivor Series this Sunday, live at 8 ET/5 PT only on pay-per-view.
Zack Ryder scored a victory over United States Champion Dolph Ziggler two weeks ago (WATCH) then took to twitter accumulating over 15,000 signatures from members of the WWE Universe on a petition to Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis. (Again, we are required to use Mr. Laurinaitis’ full title when referencing him on WWE.com) However, WWE.com was informed this morning by Mr. Laurinaitis that John Morrison will be challenging Dolph Ziggler for the U.S. Championship at Survivor Series this Sunday at Madison Square Garden , less than 20 miles from the self proclaimed Internet Champion’s home on “The L.I.” (Long Island).
When asked why The Long Island Iced-Z would not be facing Ziggler for the storied U.S. Championship this Sunday, Mr. Laurinaitis provided this explanation:
“I think I’m being very generous because John Morrison was on a losing streak which he seemed to have broken with a victory over Dolph Ziggler in a match last week. (WATCH) I’m all about giving talent opportunities and I feel that John Morrison has earned an opportunity to compete for the United States Championship.”
Brushing off our indication that Ryder defeated Ziggler a week before Morrison defeated Ziggler, Mr. Laurinaitis added:
“As far as Zack Ryder’s twitter petition goes, no General Manager in WWE history is more about social media than I am. However, I feel he is going to have to gain many more than 15,000 signatures before I consider giving him an opportunity to compete for the United States Championship. Again, I’m all about giving talent opportunities … when I feel they have earned them.”
With all due respect to the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Interim Raw General Manager, Are you serious, bro?
Sign Zack Ryder’s “Twitition”
Good Luck John on Sunday
